Extended Cognition with Big Data and AI

Big data analysis is a highly complicated task, that leads to a high cognitive load of those practicing it. The cognitive processes underlying this task are yet to be understood. This project aims at empirically investigating these cognitive processes, using the example of process mining, and developing an environment for guiding and supporting relevant cognitive processes, with this environment serving an an extended cognition component. Achieving this goal will lead to a more systematic, effective and efficient analysis process, while reducing the cognitive effort and load of the human analyst.
